Pine Lake

Bruce, Katelyn and I headed to Pine Lake the first week in August to help Jim do some landscaping at his family's cabin. Jim is a co-worker of mine from school - he mostly teaches Physical Education. This is him above working hard one day at the cabin. Below are some progress pictures in reverse order. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the job in the week that we were there, so we are headed back for the September long weekend to finish. I will have completed project photos to show you then.
This is a look of the cabin with the retaining walls completed.
Mom takes Katelyn for a walk while dad works on the retaining wall. Apparently the walk was either completely boring for K or she got exhausted hanging out in the snuggly.
The second set of boulder steps are in place as is the second retaining wall and the all important hot tub. Things are beginning to take shape.
The pavers begin to be put in place for the patio.

The first retaining wall is nearly completed.
Dad takes a much needs break and enjoys some time with his daughter.
Katelyn enjoys watching the ducks with mom.
With the coring out completed, work on one of the retaining walls begins.
Bruce begins to core out where the patio stone patio is going to go while Jim watches. It was quite the accomplishment to even get the bob cat in this tight space, but Bruce became an expert driver in a very short period of time.
Relaxing with Jim's family.
The boulder steps are mostly completed on day one.
Bruce begins work on the boulder steps.
Bruce moving some of the product closer to the front of the house. He is grinning from ear to ear - "boys" love their grown-up tonka toys!
Katelyn and I enjoy the view of the lake while the men get started on construction.
Paving stone patio area before construction begins.
We arrive at Pine Lake and Bruce begins by trimming down the weeds so he can see where he is driving the bob cat!
Bruce completes another construction job before we head to Pine Lake.

Katelyn and mom enjoy a walk together.
No Katelyn, you can not have the keys to the car!
Tennis anyone???
Dad and Katelyn enjoys some dessert together. Katelyn is wearing her cute Irish dress that Grandma G. brought back for her.
